Here, you’ll learn in 2 years to not only realise your artistic visions digitally, but also to actively integrate your own musical skills into the production process. Amidst the creative energy of the Feldstraße Bunker, you’ll learn how to master high-end studio technology whilst simultaneously using your own instrument (or your voice) as a production tool. Here, you’re not just ‘the technician’ – you’re a musician amongst musicians.

Do you have talent but are still unsure which musical direction to take?
Our orientation year gives you the space to develop and build on your skills at your own pace, whilst discovering new musical styles. At the same time, we prepare you step by step and from the ground up for the entrance exam.
The focus is on lessons in your main and secondary subjects, as well as a solid grounding in functional harmony and rhythm.

Theory crash course
That’s what makes all the difference!
An interactive course with plenty of practical exercises covering:
• Notation in treble and bass clef
• Keys and their accidentals
• Formation of intervals, triads and tetrads
• Step-by-step analysis of cadences
• Rhythmic aural training
The crash course is aimed at advanced beginners and offers the opportunity to acquire the knowledge required for music theory entrance exams. The course is suitable for anyone wishing to refresh or deepen their basic knowledge.
Objective: Preparation for the music theory section of the entrance exam at the HSM, as well as deepening/refreshing basic knowledge of music theory
Course duration: From February: 10 sessions of 2½ hours each, weekly
Certificate: Certificate of attendance from the Hamburg School of Music
Cost: €390
